Thank You

You are up against some pretty outstanding competition in the looking beautiful naturally department when you head out into the woods.

There is just no contest between natural beauty and the billion dollar cosmetics industry. Natural wins! However, that does not mean that you chuck in the moisturizer when going camping.

Your skin is the foundation of your beauty for the rest of your life so it takes precedence.

You do not have to give up looking good because you are roughing it in the back woods.  This is the perfect time to show that you can swim, fish, hike and do it all in style.

You're not camping.  You're Glam-ping!

Pack the moisturizer, lip balm, suntan lotion and hand cream.  All unscented items only if you want to avoid being mosquito bait. Mosquitoes are attracted to scents but dislike Avon's Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard so bring a small spritzer of this to use personally as a deterrent.

Mosquito's love dark clothing so do not be afraid to wear some bright colours.  A pretty white wool sweater over jeans is warm for chilly nights.

Woman in Bathing Suit

Smudge on some sheer lip gloss and sneak in a little mascara as evening approaches to show off your sun kissed complexion to perfection.

You're not packing for a resort vacation so forget the hairdryer, nail polish, high heels and expensive jewelry. Think casual but naturally elegant.  You want to have some style!

Never go into the woods without a Stetson and some good hiking boots.  Jeans and warm socks are a definite requirement as well as bobby pins and hair ties and a small mirror.

Sleeping in loose-fitting, dry clothes is a must for camping.  Always keep your nightwear, two pairs of warm socks and a wool cap in a dry spot.

Camping is messy.  Planning in advance on how best to handle getting dirty is important. Keep unscented, antibacterial wipes on hand as well as your toothbrush.

Campfire Breakfast

Set up a personal care spot in the tent or build one outside.  Even if it is just a plastic washtub on a small table or a mirror and cup hanging on a tree.

Bring a huge beach towel, unscented soap and unscented environmentally friendly shampoo and conditioner because you are going swimming first thing in the morning.

The water is freezing cold.  Good!  You'll love it!  It's invigorating and will leave you feeling fresh all day.

Dive right in and clean off that just slept in a tent look.  Towel dry your hair, comb it with a wide tooth comb and leave it loose to finish drying.

Braid your hair before it gets too dry or wait until it is dry then get out the butane curling iron for a quick couple of curls to give your hair some body and bounce.

Dress in a warm pair of leggings and over-sized sweater for the morning.  Layers for camping and hiking are perfect.

Check your nails for snags and do a quick file of any rough edges.

Lotion up and put on some sun protection lip balm.

You're ready to face the fish, now.  Be brave and bait your own hook!

Fishing Poles

Nothing screams outdoors sexy better to a man, except skinny dipping, than a woman with her own fishing pole, tackle box and a whole whack of bright, shiny lures to share.

You may even be able to get him to do the cooking if you have the perfect spoon or spinner.

Remember the hand wipes for the fish and worm smell.  Keep a little lemon juice handy. The lemon juice can do double duty as a natural astringent.

If you can gut and clean the fish you catch he'll have a hard time not just outright proposing marriage.

Thank you so much for leaving your comments!  Your input is greatly appreciated.
