Granville Island
It's mid-September here in Vancouver and the weather is gorgeous! People were wearing shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, summer dresses and sandals. Summer is still alive and kicking here on the west coast of Canada!
Today, a Saturday, may have been one of the busiest times to visit the island. Every street was teeming with shoppers, bicycles and cars. The Public Market was brimming with shoppers jockeying for position around the counters.
We perused the stores and artisan shops. Several streets are dedicated to shoppers looking for one-of-a-kind items. Unique items like hand made brooms, iron and leather goods and pottery were being crafted right on site. The fruit, meat and cheese sellers do a very steady business. Grab a ticket and get in line.
Much to our surprise and delight a company of young actors and actresses was entertaining the park attendees. We dined on grapes while watching Titania and Puck dancing about with fairies. Wandering minstrels added even more charm to our little picnic.
