Rob's Rockin' Ribs
I am always torn between a dry rub and a sauce but these ribs have the best of both worlds, a garlic-onion rub topped with a savoury and sweet sauce. The perfect combination that pleases the eye and your taste buds.
Check out the secret ingredients that make Rob's Rockin' Ribs the perfect summer dish!
Ingredients
-
3.5 pounds of pork side ribs (serves 4)
-
1 package of onion soup mix
-
3 tbsp. of garlic powder
-
1 cup of brown sugar
-
1 tablespoon of pepper
-
1/2 teaspoon of salt
-
1 cup of ketchup
-
1 cup of soy sauce
-
1/2 cup of Worcestershire sauce
-
1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar
-
1/3 cup of plum sauce (secret ingredient!)
-
1 cup of peach jam (secret ingredient!)
Instructions
-
preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
-
cut ribs into racks (3-5 ribs each)
-
add dry ingredients to a mixing bowl (onion soup mix, garlic powder, brown sugar, pepper and salt)
-
blend dry ingredients with a fork and add to a large freezer bag and set to the side
-
add wet ingredients to a mixing bowl (ketchup, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, plum sauce and peach jam. I have made this recipe with 1 1/3 cups of plum sauce and omitted the jam but it's better with the jam!)
-
whisk together the wet ingredients and set aside
-
add the cut ribs, individually, to the dry mix and shake until lightly coated
-
add the ribs, meaty side up, to a large, shallow roaster or casserole dish
-
generously ladle the sauce over the ribs
-
bake, dish covered in tin foil, for 1 hour
-
If you would prefer to make this dish in your crock pot then cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 8 hours. The meat will melt off the bones!
