Girl's Bedroom Scrap Denim Wreath
Beth and I got busy cleaning up her desk & crafting area. The walls were pretty bare so we dressed one wall up with denim! We love having leftover denim here at "Crafting with Beth"!
We recycled some of our scrap denim from other projects. Beth & I worked together to make this pretty Girl's Bedroom Scrap Denim Wreath!
We started with a dollar store pool noodle that we joined together with duct tape. Then we picked through the scraps and using the biggest pieces first we wrapped them around the wreath form and stapled them to the back. The stapler was much easier to use than glue, like the last project wreath.
Once all of the larger scrap pieces had been wrapped around the wreath form (alternating shades of denim ) we wrapped white eyelet ribbon around the wreath. Using double sided adhesive strips, cut to size and added to the back of the wreath, I hung 3 pieces of ribbon embellished with beads and feathers. The strip of denim running across the centre of the wreath was from the waistband of the jeans.
I wrote out Beth's name on some card stock and she cut it out. The name was attached to the waistband using pieces of double sided adhesive..
The denim flower was made by cutting 6 square pieces of denim into the shape of two thumb tips, side by side. Each piece was then folded like a fan and small elastics kept each fan closed at the bottom until I could sew them together. Next, the fans were each strung by needle together and drawn tight to create a circle and each petal was hand-shaped and fanned out. We added a piece of double sided adhesive, cut into a tiny circle and topped with denim, to the centre of the flower. Finally, we attached the completed denim flower to the wreath using double sided adhesive on the back of the flower and on the sides of 3 petals.
We are very pleased with Beth's Girl's Room Scrap Denim Wreath!!
This was a great project to work on together. Check out our other denim project, a "Scrap Denim Memory Wreath"!
