Pack A Picnic
I love planning a picnic. Choosing the food, the proper containers, the cutlery, the napkins, the plates and cups is a joy. Putting together all the items and special little surprises for what is going to look like a casual dining experience is fun! The perfect soft blanket, cushions and little touches that make the picnic experience a small outing to remember are important to me.
We have enjoyed many memorable picnics at beaches and parks and once even in the living room on a rainy day. There have been family picnics, barbecues and romantic picnics for two. Each outing requiring just the right combination of items to make the day special and opening up the picnic basket feel like opening a special gift. Pack your next picnic basket with OUR FOUR SUITCASES!
The Beach Picnic
Invest in a cooler on wheels. There are many good beach coolers these days but the coolers on wheels are worth the extra cost.
Pack fresh, juicy fruit...at least 2 pieces per person...pears, plums and peaches are optimal as well as a bag of seedless grapes.
Bottles of Water...at least 2 per person. Freeze half over night to add to the cooler as coolers for food and drinks.
Chicken Caesar Wraps...cut in halves and place in an airtight container. 1 wrap per person.
Veggie sticks and Caesar Salad dip. Celery sticks and baby carrots are the best for dipping and hold up well in the cooler.
Bread sticks and Mini Babybel Cheese in the wax coating are optimal but you can wrap your own cheese at home too.

Granola bars or Cookies.

Make sure you take your garbage home with you. Do not feed the wildlife or leave any litter behind.
The Indoor Supper Picnic
Bring some summer sunshine to a rainy day by having an indoor supper picnic. Dress your dining room table with lace and checkered linens, elegant glassware and your picnic plates and cutlery.
Bake up a batch of Parmesan chicken thighs along with some cheesy mashed potatoes and baked beans then toss together a vegetable medley. Add creamy macaroni salad to dollar store jars with picnic print lids and devil some eggs. Make a batch of lemonade or limeade and fill up some old fashioned glass bottles.
The leftovers will be great for tomorrow's packed lunches!
