Victoria Day

starfish

ARGH MATEY! We found real treasure from the ocean! A starfish that for some reason is entrancing to our cats.

This year we spent the May Two Four long weekend making and enjoying sangria and hunting for treasure in New Westminster, B.C. where they celebrate the holiday with their version of the 21 gun salute,  the Hyack Anvil Battery Salute.  A loud celebration followed by evening fireworks!

This holiday is commonly referred to as the May Two Four long weekend and is looked upon as the day that fun, summer activities start.

Several provinces in Canada celebrate Victoria Day.  It is a day to commemorate the late Queen Victoria and falls on the last Monday preceding May 25th and is a statutory holiday here in BC as well as in Ontario and Saskatchewan.
